K-State Announces Time Changes for Weekend Athletic Events
Dec. 2, 2002 Manhattan, Kan. - Kansas State athletic department officials announced on Monday morning time changes for both the NCAA Volleyball First Round matches and the eighth annual Commerce Bank Wildcat Classic to be hosted by the university this weekend. In the NCAA Volleyball First Round, the 12th-seeded Washington State Cougars (21-7) will now play Mid-Continent Conference champion and automatic selection Oral Roberts (22-10) on Friday beginning at 5:30 p.m. CST, while Kansas State (20-8) will battle Michigan (16-14) 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first match. The winners of Friday's two matches will still play on Saturday at 7 p.m. for the right to advance to the NCAA Sweet 16. Tickets for the first- and second-round matches are already on sale and can be obtained by calling the Kansas State Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-221-CATS. All-session passes start at $10 for adults, $8 for students and senior citizens and $6 for children under 12. Single-match tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens and $4 for children under 12. Tickets will be sold until Friday at noon, then can be purchased at the Field House beginning at 4 p.m. Please note that all-session passes will only be sold until Friday. The department also announced time changes for the Commerce Bank Wildcat Classic held at Bramlage Coliseum this weekend. On Friday, UW-Milwaukee will play Weber State at 3 p.m. CST, while Kansas State battles Middle Tennessee State beginning at 5 p.m. Results from Friday's contests will determine the pairings for Saturday with games slated for 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively, however, the Wildcats will play the late contest regardless of Friday's outcome. |
