MANHATTAN, Kan.KansasState middle blocker Kelsey Chipman earned her second Big 12 Conference Player of the Week award of the season for her performances against Colorado and No. 4 Texas. Chipman was named Defensive Player of the Week after receiving offensive recognition earlier in the season.
Chipman led the Big 12 in blocks last week with an average of 1.67 per set. She stuffed eight Colorado attempts on, including two solos and six assists, in a 3-1 victory on Wednesday. She then recorded seven blocks against No. 4 Texas on Saturday. Offensively, Chipman averaged 2.89 kills while maintaining a .532 hitting percentage. She did not have an attack error against the Longhorns and tallied a season-best 17 kills at Colorado.
Chipman is joined by Ashley Engle of Texas and Nebraska’s Sydney Anderson as players of the week. Engle took home offensive player of the week while Anderson earned her fifth rookie of the week award. This is the fifth player of the week award for the Wildcats this season
