MANHATTAN, Kan. After falling to rival Kansas in game one, the 12^th-ranked Kansas State Wildcats stormed back to win the next three and take the match 3-1 on Wednesday night. The Wildcats earned the victory with scores of 21-30, 30-26, 30-14, 30-26 to improve to 21-7 overall; 13-5 in the Big 12 Conference. Backed by 12 service aces and a .316 hitting percentage, K-State survived the scare to capture its 24^th win in the last 26 meetings with the Jayhawks.

Junior Rita Liliom paced the Cats’ offense for the second-consecutive match as she converted for 16 kills on 30 attempts while swinging at .367 percent. She added two aces, four digs and two blocks. Senior Angie Lastra disrupted the Jayhawks’ receiving as she recorded five service aces, including three straight in game two to push K-State to a 7-1 lead. The Carolina, Puerto Rico, native also had a match-high 23 digs.

Megan Farr and Nataly Korobkova added 14 kills each for the Wildcats, as Farr hit at .545 percent for her 17^th match of hitting .300 or better this season. The product of Manhattan, Kan., also produced a match-high eight blocks, all assists, to tally nearly half of K-State’s nine team blocks. Korobkova also registered five digs and four blocks for K-State.

Defensive specialists Lauren Mathewson and Lauren Rosenthal had key numbers against the Jayhawks, as freshman Mathewson notched a career-high four aces. Rosenthal dished out a near-season high of 14 digs, falling short of her mark from Baylor by one.

Senior Stacey Spiegelberg put together a 54-assist effort on the night, while tallying six kills and six digs. Sophomore Kelsey Chipman finished with nine kills, one service ace and K-State’s lone solo block of the night.

Kansas drops to 12-16 overall and 5-13 in the conference despite hitting at .209 with 60 kills on 158 attempts. KU finished with two Jayhawks recording double-doubles: Katie Martincich had 26 assists and 11 digs, while Karina Garlington had an 11-kill, 10-dig effort.
