MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State’s Angie Lastra was named to the ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 third team in an announcement made Thursday. It is the first Academic All-District honor for a Wildcat volleyball student-athlete since the 2004 season.
Lastra, a life sciences/pre-med major, has played a key role for the Wildcats this season. The product of Carolina, Puerto Rico has tallied 439 digs this season and is third in K-State history for career digs with 1,422. Lastra is the 10th Wildcat to earn an Academic All-District citation and the first since Gabby Guerre was named to the second team in the 2004 season. Former Wildcat Cari Jensen is the only two-time honoree in school history.
