Chipman, Chisholm Earn Academic All-District
MANHATTAN, Kan. - A pair of Kansas State Wildcats were honored for their work on the volleyball court and in the classroom on Thursday being selected to the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VII Team. Senior middle blocker Kelsey Chipman and junior outside hitter JuliAnne Chisholm were both honored as members of the first team making them eligible for Academic All-America as well.
Chipman currently holds a 3.79 GPA in life sciences and pre-medicine. This is her third Academic All-District VII honor after being selected to the third team last year and first time in 2007. She has honored as Academic All-Big 12 every year she has been eligible for the award as well. This season Chipman leads the Big 12 Conference with a .364 hitting percentage and moved into second place all-time at K-State in career block assists in the Wildcats' last match against Texas A&M.
Chisholm is receiving recognition as Academic All-District VII for the first time in her career and holds a perfect 4.0 GPA in athletic training and pre-medicine. She currently leads the Wildcats in kills per set at 3.19. She has posted double digits in kills in all but five matches and 20 or more in each of the last two.
