MANHATTAN, Kan. Despite three players in double figures in kills, Kansas State was defeated by Texas A&M in Ahearn Field House for the first time in the series, 3-0 (30-28, 34-32, 30-25). The Wildcats had won 10 straight over the Aggies in Manhattan.

Kansas State (9-16, 1-14 Big 12) was led by junior Angie Lastra for the fourth time this season with 13 kills. The product of Carolina, Puerto Rico also added eight digs to her ledger and is 34 digs from passing Laura Downey for second in K-State history.

Also in double figures for K-State were sophomore Megan Kroeker and senior Sandy Werner. Kroeker notched 12 kills on a match-high .478 hitting percentage. The product of Solomon, Kan., also added four digs and two block assists to her stat sheet on the afternoon.

Werner provided the Wildcats with a lift off the bench with 10 kills on a .269 hitting percentage. With the performance, the Topeka, Kan., native moved past Val Wieck for 12^th on the Kansas State career kills list with 1,064 for her career.

Junior setter Stacey Spiegelberg tallied her team-leading ninth double-double this season with 43 assists and 10 digs.

Texas A&M (11-12, 4-11) was led by Sarah Ammerman and Christi Hahn with 17 and 13 kills, respectively. Hahn tallied a .414 hitting percentage and also registered four blocks.

For the afternoon, the two teams registered 56 kills each, however, the Aggies hit .275 to K-State’s .172. The Wildcats carded 53 digs to Texas A&M’s 49 and the Aggies pieced together nine total blocks, while K-State mustered 6.5.
