Wildcats Make Grade with AVCA Team Academic Award
A total of 70 women’s Division I programs received the award and the Wildcats are one of three programs from the Big12 Conference to be recognized.
The Wildcats passed the test on and off the court in 2007-08 to keep the streak of AVCA Team Academic Awards going and also placed seven student-athletes on the Academic All-Big 12 team. K-State has received the award every year since the 2001-02 academic year and earned its first in 1996-97.
The award was created in the 1992-93 academic year to recognize college and high school teams for excellence in the classroom. The 70 Division I schools receiving the award this year also set a record for the division breaking last year’s mark of 56.
