MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State volleyball improved its spring record to 17-3 over the weekend, with a 9-1 mark on April 8 in the upper gyms of Ahearn Field House.

K-State utilized a balanced offensive attack to defeat BYU (2-0), Nebraska-Kearney (2-0), Arkansas (2-0), Wichita State (2-0) and a split with Creighton (1-1). The Wildcats were led by junior-to-be Rita Liliom with 32 kills and sophomore-to-be Megan Kroeker with 21 kills and a .310 hitting percentage.

Redshirt freshman Tiffany Johnson continued her strong spring with 19 kills and a .330 hitting percentage. In her first appearance with the Wildcats in Arkansas a week ago, the Odenton, Md., native tallied 17 kills and a .410 hitting percentage.

“Overall, it was a very efficient offensive day for us,” said associate head coach Jeff Grove. “The offense is really coming around. Our serving was also very effective and got people out of system.”

The Wildcats are off this weekend before traveling to Loyola Marymount on April 22. While in California, K-State will face perennial power Hawaii, San Diego State, Idaho State and Loyola Marymount.
