MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State volleyball announced on Thursday a four tournament spring schedule beginning April 1. The slate includes a tournament in Manhattan on April 8.  

 

Head coach Suzie Fritz returns nine letterwinners from the 2005 team that went 21-11 and appeared in its  10^th straight NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats begin spring practices on March 15^th and play their first tournament of the spring in Fayetteville, Ark., on April 1. K-State will face host Arkansas, Oral Roberts, Missouri State and a team made up of Arkansas alumni.  

 

The Wildcats will return to Manhattan to host a spring tournament in the upper gymnasium of Ahearn Field House on April 8. Teams invited to Manhattan are: 2005 opponents Arkansas and Creighton, 2006 fall opponent Wichita State, BYU and 2005 NCAA Division II national runner-up Nebraska-Kearney.

 

The public is welcome to attend the matches in Ahearn Field House. All matches are free of charge, with the first match beginning at 9 a.m.

 

K-State will conclude its spring schedule with road trips at Loyola Marymount (April 22) and at Minnesota (April 29). The Wildcats will face a variety of opponents from a 14-team field at Loyola Marymount. In Minneapolis, the Wildcats will play host Minnesota and 2006 fall opponent, Alabama.

 

Kansas State’s 2006 fall schedule begins on Aug. 25-27 at the Fresno State Invitational.
