MANHATTAN, Kan. – The accolades for Kansas State middle blocker Kaitlynn Pelger continue to add up with the sophomore being named an All-American by Volleyball Magazine. The sophomore was named a third team All-American by the publication joining five other players from Big 12 Conference schools on the list.
Pelger led the Wildcats with 500 kills this season and posted a hitting percentage of .304 while averaging 2.79 digs per set and 1.00 blocks. Her 500 kills tied for fifth in a season in school history. She reached the century mark in three categories for the second straight year.
Previously, Pelger received All-America honorable mention from the AVCA and was named to the All-Big 12 first team. Joining her on the Volleyball Magazine All-America Team were first team members Rachael Adams and Bailey Webster of Texas, second teamers Carly Jenson and Alison Landwehr of Iowa State and Haley Eckerman from Texas on the third team. Eckerman also received Volleyball Magazine Freshman of the Year. The last time a Wildcat was recognized by Volleyball Magazine was in 2001 when Liz Wegner received honorable mention.
