Dan Cavender is in his fifth season with the Kansas State strength and conditioning staff this year following six years on staff at his alma mater Emporia State. At K-State he works with the volleyball, rowing and track and field teams to improve the athletic performance of the Wildcats.

Whille at Emporia State, Cavender worked as the head strength and conditioning coach for football. He also served as an assistant football coach and recruiting coordinator. He also coordinated the team's travel at Emporia State.

Cavender received his master's of physical education from Emporia State in 2002 and prior to his time there he attended Butler County Community College for two years where he also played football and was named an all-conference offensive lineman.

Cavender is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a certified USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach. He and his wife Abby have two sons Coy and Cash.
