TEMPE, Ariz. Olga Klimova and Katerina Kudlackova won their second doubles match in three days during the final day of the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational on Sunday.
Klimova and Kudlackova defeated Arizona State’s Laila Abdala and Sabrina Caponnolo, 8-4, to close out the doubles portion of the tournament at Whiteman Tennis Center. The duo was the only K-State team to win a doubles match during the three day tournament, notching a win on Friday against Jillian Braverman and Sylvia Kosakowski from Pepperdine
For the second consecutive day, Kudlackova won in singles, topping Michigan’s Elizabeth Exon in straight sets to earn her second win of the tournament.
The Thunderbird Invitational was the last event for Kansas State this fall. Viviana Yrureta finished the fall as the Wildcats’ top singles player with eight singles wins, followed by Kudlackova with five.
Kansas State will open the spring portion of its schedule on Jan. 19 at the Georgia Bulldog Invitational.
