MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State's No. 3 doubles team had its run to the Wildcat Doubles Invitational title halted today by the Oklahoma State Cowgirls at Cottonwood Racquet Club in Manhattan.

Sophomore Paulina Castillejos and freshman Maria Rosenberg lost to Oklahoma State's No. 2 doubles team of Dominika Olszewska and Ashleigh Dolman, 8-2 in the invitational's final. Kansas State was down 6-1, battled to make it 6-2, but OSU won the last two games for the title.

Castillejos and Rosenberg finished the invitational with a 4-2 record and as a No. 3 pair are 3-2 this fall.

"This was a good way to cap off the fall," Kansas State head coach Steve Bietau said. "We made good progress in doubles play. It was competitive and concentrated, but still there is plenty of holes to work on.

"There was lots of contributions from different people. Some leadership came from some unexpected people and that was nice," Bietau continued.

The Wildcat Doubles Invitational was the last tournament for the Wildcats this fall. The 'Cats will return to the court Jan. 25-27 when they travel to Tucson, Arizona to play Arizona, New Mexico and San Diego.
