TEMPE, Ariz. Kansas State tallied two straight set singles wins during Saturday’s action at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational.
Freshman Antea Huljev won her fourth match of the fall with a 6-4, 6-2 defeat of Amanda Martin of Arizona State. With the win, Huljev snapped a three-match losing skid and advanced to the semifinals of the consolation bracket. Huljev will face Denise Muresan of Michigan on Sunday morning.
Sophomore Natasha Vieira earned her third win of the fall with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Alejandra Boeker of Purdue. Vieira also ended a three-match losing streak with the victory and has a bye in the semifinals of the consolation bracket.
Kansas State will conclude action this fall during the final day of the ASU Thunderbird Invitational at the Whiteman Tennis Center on Sunday.
