MANHATTAN, Kan. - All three of the Kansas State doubles teams advanced to the main draw of the Wildcat Doubles Invitational today at Cottonwood Racquet Club in Manhattan.

Kansas State's No. 1 doubles team of senior Alena Jecminkova and freshman Andrea Cooper are seeded second in the draw after posting a 3-0 record in pool play. The pair will play Missouri's Lucie Ruskova and Kristina Olshanskaya, who had a 1-2 record in pool play, tomorrow in the first round.

The Wildcats' No. 2 doubles team of senior Kathy Chuda and junior Petra Sedlmajerova also advanced to the main draw with a 3-0 record and are the No. 3 seed in the draw. They will play Iowa State's Sharla Whitaker and Karin Westberg, who posted a 2-1 record in pool play.

K-State's No. 3 doubles team of sophomores Hayley McIver and Paulina Castillejos are unseeded in the draw and finished pool play with a 2-1 record. The duo play Colorado's Lia Dimingo and Dominique Lemperle, who had a 2-1 record today.

"Excellent day," Kansas State head coach Steve Bietau said. "I saw significant progress in many areas. Very aggressive play and disciplined play across the board. Against the quality of the field and to get wins at the margin we did, is indicative of how well they played."

They other two teams entered in the main draw are No. 1 seed and ITA Regional Doubles Champions Urska Juric and Katka Sevikova of Missouri against Oklahoma State's Dominika Olszewska and Ashleigh Dolman. Missouri was 3-0 and Oklahoma State was 1-2 in pool play.

In the consolation draw, teams will continue to play a round robin tournament. Iowa State's Tara Goedjen and Kristin Gyaki (0-3), Oklahoma State's Erin Pauchnik and Katia Vasylyeva (0-3), Colorado's Tracy Moore and Sara Austin (sub Kate Lutgert) (0-3) and Iowa State's Edna Vazquez and Courtney Leese (1-2) will compete tomorrow.

Play begins at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the Cottonwood Racquet Club.
