MANHATTAN, Kan. The Kansas State women’s tennis team is prepped and ready for its final fall event this weekend at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., at the Whiteman Tennis Center. The Wildcats will face student-athletes from the host Sun Devils, California, Stanford and Michigan in singles and doubles action.
During the last two events, the Hoosier Classic and the ITA Central Regional, the Wildcats have strung together a 7-2 record in doubles play. The combination of junior Katerina Kudlackova and sophomore Natasha Vieira went 1-1 at the ITA Central Regional and has registered a mark of 4-1 this fall.
Senior Viviana Yrureta has been the spark plug in singles play, as she has tallied a 5-3 record. The product of Puerto Ordaz
, has three of the team’s five 3-set victories this fall, including a 6-3, 0-6, 6-4 decision over Camilla Belassi of Colorado
during the ITA Central Regional.
