LAWRENCE, Kan. - Kansas State women's tennis wrapped up the final day of the Kansas Invitational on Sunday with strong results. The Wildcats captured four singles victories and four doubles wins.
Leading the charge for the Wildcats on Sunday was senior Natasha Vieira. The product of Carabobo, Venezuela, registered a singles win and a pair of doubles victory with playing partner, Carmen Borau Ramos. Vieira defeated Chelsea Loprinzi of Iowa State in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. Vieira finished the fall with a 5-7 singles record.
In doubles play, Vieira and Borau Ramos opened the day with an 8-2 win over Ellie Nixon and Loprinzi of Iowa State. In their second match of the day, Vieira and Borau Ramos eased past Kristin Eggleston and Laura Richardson of New Mexico, 8-3. Entering the weekend, Vieira and Borau Ramos owned an 0-3 record together, but won three double matches and will begin the spring with a 3-3 mark together.
Kansas State will now break until the beginning of the spring schedule on Jan. 31 in Des Moines against Missouri Valley Conference members, Drake and Northern Iowa.
