LAWRENCE, Kan. - Ending their first fall campaign with Kansas State, freshmen Ana Gomez Aleman and Carmen Borau Ramos secured two singles victories apiece at the Kansas Invitational on Saturday.
Gomez Aleman bounced back from a Friday defeat to card a pair of straight set wins. The product of Murcia, Spain opened her day with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Maria Aleman of Arkansas State. Gomez Aleman finished her afternoon with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Chelsea Horner. Gomez Aleman is now 4-5 in her first season with the Wildcats.
Borau Ramos played her first two matches of the weekend on Saturday after an opening round bye in her bracket on Friday. The native of San Bernardo, Spain, secured a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Chelsea Loprinzi of Iowa State. Borau Ramos returned to the court in the afternoon to register a 6-4, 6-2 win over Maureen Modesto of Missouri. Borau Ramos pushed her career-opening record to 3-5.
K-State will conclude its final weekend of the fall season on Sunday with the final day of the Kansas Invitational.
