SALT LAKE CITY, Utah Kansas State senior Katerina Kudlackova ended a five-match losing streak during Wednesday’s qualifying draw at the ITA Central Region Championships at the Eccles Tennis Center.
Kudlackova ended the skid with a straight set win over Peta Maree Lancaster of Oklahoma, 6-4, 6-2. The product of Ceska Trebova, Czech Republic had a first round bye in the qualifying round and with the win advances to the main draw of the ITA Central Region Championships.
Kansas State’s other representative at the championship, sophomore Antea Huljev, was slotted into the main draw by virtue of her 7-3 fall record. Thursday’s matches and times have yet to be announced, but there will be two rounds of main draw doubles and one round of singles main draw action.
K-State will continue action at the ITA Central Region on Thursday, while five Wildcats will start play at the New Mexico Invitational in Albuquerque.
