MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State women’s tennis will make its second trip to Tulsa, Okla., this fall, as the team takes part in the ITA Central Regional at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, Oct. 17-21.
K-State’s ledger of players traveling to Tulsa includes senior Viviana Yrureta, junior Katerina Kudlackova, sophomore Natasha Vieira and freshmen Pauline Guemas and Antea Huljev. Yrureta, Kudlackova and Vieira will make their second straight appearances at the regional, as they finished with a combined 5-4 record in singles action. The full seven-player delegation from a season ago registered a singles record of 10-10 and a doubles mark of 4-3.
Yrureta enters the week with a team-leading singles record of 4-2 this fall and a winner of four of her last five singles matches, including two hard fought three-set wins at the Hoosier Classic.
Two of K-State’s doubles combinations enter this week of play with unblemished records this fall. The tandems of Vieira/Kudlackova and Yrureta/Huljev played together for the first time this fall at the Hoosier Classic and registered identical 3-0 records.
