BLOOMINGTON, Ind. Kansas State’s trio of freshmen each registered a singles win during Saturday’s action at the Hoosier Classic. Sophomore Antea Huljev also extended her singles win streak to a career-best four matches.

The freshmen trio of Mariya Slupska, Andrea Straznicka and Petra Chuda each tallied a win, with Slupska and Straznicka capturing three-set wins. Slupska recovered from a first set deficit to Julie Voss of Ohio State to win, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6). The product of Kiev, Ukraine, now has won a career-best four straight singles matches and is 2-0 in three-set matches. She boosted her record to 6-3 and has won five of her last six matches.

Straznicka won her second straight singles match by outlasting Remi Martin of Purdue, 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7). The native of Lysice, Czech Republic, has now captured wins in four of her last six outings and is 2-2 in three-set matches. Her record now stands at 4-5.

Chuda captured her third singles win in four attempts by defeating Kirsten Magi of Purdue in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. She is now 3-4 on the season and 3-2 in straight set matches.

Huljev extended her singles winning streak to a career-best of four by dropping Angela Dipastina of Ohio State in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. The Velenje, Slovenia, native has now won five of her last six matches to boost her record this season to 7-2 and moved her career mark to 22-19.

Kansas State will conclude action at the Hoosier Classic on Sunday.
