K-State Tennis Headed to Hoosier Classic
MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State tennis will play its second fall tournament this weekend, as the squad travels to the Hoosier Classic in Bloomington, Ind. Teams competing this weekend are Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Vanderbilt and Western Michigan.

This weekend’s tournament will present some talented and experienced competition to challenge the Wildcats. According to the season-opening FILA singles rankings from Sept. 7, eight players among the top 125 in the nation could be playing at the IU Tennis Center. Vanderbilt has three players ranked including two in the top-30, Amanda Taylor (No. 20) and Catherine Newman (No. 27).
In the season-opening FILA doubles rankings, six doubles teams are represented from the teams competing this weekend. The highest ranked team that could compete this weekend is the sister tandem of Kelley and Yvette Hyndman of Following this weekend’s action, K-State will have a week off before making a return trip to |
