Huljev, Sertic Capture Wins at Hoosier Classic
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Kansas State junior Antea Huljev won her fourth singles match of the season, as the Wildcats competed in the second day of the Hoosier Classic on Saturday. Sophomore Nina Sertic won her second straight singles match, while freshman Ana Gomez Aleman won her first.
Huljev improved her record to 4-2 this season with a three-set victory, 6-1, 5-7, 1-0 (10-7), over Ashley Murdock of Memphis. In her career with the Wildcats, Huljev is 13-8 in three-set matches including a 3-0 mark this season. The native of Velenje, Slovenia, has won four of her last five outings and owns a career mark of 33-38. Sertic improved her season record to 2-3 this season with a straight set win over Andrea Anques-Garcia of Memphis, 6-1, 6-1. The product of Zagrab, Croatia is now 10-15 in her K-State career. Gomez Aleman secured her first win in a K-State uniform, outlasting Marjorie Ondeck of Memphis, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8). Kansas State will conclude play at the Hoosier Classic on Sunday with one singles match and two doubles matches. Next weekend, K-State will travel to the Arkansas Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
