Wildcats Fall to Aggies, 6-1


 

 
 

COLLEGE STATION, Texas Texas A&M won five of six singles matches in straight sets and swept doubles play against the Wildcats as Kansas State lost 6-1 at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on Saturday.

 

Kansas State (9-8, 5-4) had an early lead at No. 3 doubles and were tied at No. 2 half-way through doubles play, but the No. 38 Aggies (11-10, 7-2) surged ahead to take an early 1-0 lead.

 

Texas A&M continued to roll, posting straight-set victories in five of the six singles matches. Fernanda Da Valle snapped the skid for Kansas State with a three-set win over Tiffany Clifford, but the match had already been decided.

 

Kansas State has never beaten Texas A&M, having lost 11 consecutive matches to the Aggies.

 

The Wildcats visit the No. 17 Texas Longhorns on Sunday in Austin before returning to Manhattan. Kansas State finishes the regular season at Nebraska on April 23.
