MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State women’s tennis will remain in the state for its final road match of the season, as the Wildcats face in-state rival Kansas on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

K-State (3-11, 0-7 Big 12) will look to put an end to a nine match skid. During the current downturn, the Wildcats have lost three matches by a score of 4-3 and have held an early lead by winning the doubles point in four of the nine matches.

One of the doubles’ tandems that have had success recently is the duo of sophomore Antea Huljev and freshman Nina Sertic. The pair played together for the second and third time in their careers last weekend, which was the first time since Jan. 16 at the Georgia Invitational. Huljev and Sertic were able to build chemistry to defeat the No. 54 doubles’ team in the nation Samantha van der Drift and Kelsy Garland of Texas Tech.

The Wildcats have won two straight in Lawrence and have captured three of the last four meetings with the Jayhawks (9-10, 3-5 Big 12).

Kansas State returns home for a three-match home stand, which begins on Saturday. The Wildcats welcome in Nebraska at 1 p.m. to the Wamego Recreation Complex.
