MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State won the doubles point and five of six singles matches while rolling to a 6-1 victory over Oklahoma at Ahearn Fieldhouse on Sunday.

Kansas State (8-6, 4-2) took an early 1-0 lead after winning the doubles point and two of three hard fought doubles matches. Jessica Simosa and Katerina Kudlackova defeated Gabby Baker and Chelsea Orr, 9-7, at No. 1 doubles, but the Sooners (7-11, 1-5) answered with a 9-8(9-7) tie-break win at the No. 3. Olga Klimova and Fernanda Da Valle outlasted Christi Baxley and Irina Lykina at No. 2 doubles, 9-8(7-3), to clinch the point for the Wildcats.

Oklahoma answered with a win to start singles play and evened the score as Gabby Baker topped Maria Perevoschikova in straight sets, but K-State stormed ahead and clinched the match by winning the next three singles matches.

Kudlackova’s win over Monica Purice at No. 3 singles clinched the match for the Wildcats and extended the freshman’s winning streak to five matches. Da Valle’s win at No. 4 singles extended her winning streak to six games and was her team-high 18^th win of the season.

Tamar Kvaratskhelia did not play in Sunday’s match after injuring her ankle in the pre-match warm-up.

The Wildcats play their final two regular season home matches when they host Big 12 foes Baylor and Misouri next weekend. K-State will take on Baylor on Saturday, April 8, at noon, and will face Missouri on Sunday, April 9, at noon. All K-State home matches are played outdoors at the Washburn Tennis Facility at the Peters Recreation Complex in Manhattan unless rain or wind forces them indoors at Ahearn Fieldhouse. Admission to all K-State tennis matches is free.
