INTERESTING FACTS & MILESTONES

  • Kansas State posted the most victories in a single season in 2003 with 15. The Wildcats also posted a record-tying seven Big 12 Conference wins.
  • The Wildcats reached the NCAA Round of 16 for the first time in school history. The 2002-03 season was just the third time K-State made an appearance in the NCAA Team Tennis Tournament.
  • K-State played three top 20 programs in 2002-03, beating No. 9 Virginia Commonwealth and No. 16 Northwestern and losing to No. 5 Southern California.
  • The Cats had a six-match winning streak between March 19 andd April 15. The streak was the fifth-longest in school history.
  • Hayley McIver and Andrea Cooper won 22 and 20 singles matches, respectively in 2002-03. The pair were the first Wildcats since  2001 to have a 20-win season.
  • Hayley McIver and Petra Sedlmajerova each won a team-best 20 doubles matches.
  • Petra Sedlmajerova became Kansas State’s career leader in singles wins (77) and doubles wins (73) and third in singles winning percentage (.620).

NATIONAL RANKINGS
Kansas State finished No. 32 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) final poll. K-State was ranked No. 1 in the ITA Central Region poll as a team. Individually, Petra Sedlmajerova and Paulina Castillejos were ranked No. 4 in doubles and Sedlmajerova (No. 8), Maria Rosenberg (No. 13) and Jessica Simosa (No. 21) were ranked in singles.
