COLUMBIA, Mo. Katerina Kudlackova earned wins in doubles and singles but it wasn’t enough to keep K-State from losing its Big 12 opener and fourth consecutive match, 5-2, at Missouri on Saturday.

Kudlackova and Olga Klimova combined to defeat Missouri’s Raquel Wagner and Katelyn McKenzie at the top of the doubles lineup but Missouri won at No. 2 and No. 3 to take the doubles point and then the match at Green Tennis Center.

Kudlackova won her match at No. 3 singles, defeating Chrissy Svetlic in straight sets, to give the Wildcats their first point of the match. Viviana Yrureta also won for the Wildcats, topping Erika Josbena in three sets at No. 1 singles.

Missouri (5-3, 1-2 Big 12) won at No. 2, 4, 5 and 6 singles to clinch the match and claim its first Big 12 win of the season and won its third dual in a row.

Tamar Kvaratskhelia returned to the K-State lineup for the first time since playing doubles against BYU on Feb. 17, and was up-ended at No. 2 singles against Amanda Pratzel, 5-7, 7-6(8-6), 6-1.

Kansas State (2-5, 0-1 Big 12) played without Fernanda Da Valle who was out with an injury. Da Valle has appeared at No. 4, 5 and 2 in K-State’s singles lineup this season and leads the Wildcats with four dual play wins.

K-State’s Friday match with Iowa State was postponed due to blizzard-like weather conditions and a make-up date will be announced next week. The Wildcats return home and take a break from Big 12 competition when they host Tulsa on Saturday at Ahearn Field House, beginning at 11 a.m.
