PROVO, Utah Freshman Antea Huljev won her third singles match in her last four opportunities, but No. 56 BYU defended its home court with a 6-1 set back of No. 68 Kansas State on Saturday.

Huljev recovered from a second set loss to Chie Hayasaka to register the only win for the Wildcats, 6-2, 1-6, 6-2. The rookie from Velenje, Slovakia, improved her record to 11-9 on the year and 4-3 during dual play. This was Huljev’s first career three-set win and is now 1-3 in extended matches.

Kansas State has a week off before opening Big 12 play with in-state rival, Kansas, on March 5. Match time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
