TEMPE, Ariz. – Kansas State’s Karla Bonacic put the final touches to the fall schedule for the Wildcats on Sunday, as she tallied a straight set win on the last day of the ASU Thunderbird Invitational at the Whiteman Tennis Center.

Bonacic set down Ohio State’s Gabby Steele in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1 in the Maroon Draw. Bonacic, a junior from Split, Croatia, completed the fall with a 6-4 record and is now 39-27 in her career which includes a 27-25 mark in straight sets.

The six wins by Bonacic this fall set a new career-best in the fall campaign. In her previous two seasons, she registered a total of five wins in the fall season.

Kansas State will take a break for two months before resuming workouts in early January in preparation for the 2012 spring season. K-State will open the 2012 spring schedule at the Bulldog Invitational in Athens, Ga., on Jan. 14-15. K-State will face Georgia on Jan. 14, followed by a match against Troy on Jan. 15.
