Tennis Team Sweeps Iowa State In Doubles At Wildcat Doubles Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State tennis team swept Iowa State Saturday in six doubles matches in the Wildcat Doubles Invitational at the Cottonwood Racquet Club. The Wildcat doubles team of junior Hayley McIver and sophomore Andrea Cooper beat Elizabeth Chermel and Courtney Leese, 8-3; Charlotte Ljungkrantz and Suzanne Rutten, 8-2; and Tara Goedjen and Ljungkrantz, 8-0. Kansas State's other doubles team of senior Petra Sedlmajerova and freshman Jessica Simosa beat Goedjen and Rutten, 8-0; Chermel and Leese, 8-3; and Leese and Rutten, 8-3. The invitational was originally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, but Colorado was unable to attend due to weather. Sunday's matches have been canceled. K-State returns to action on Nov. 7-10 in the Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championship.
