BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Kansas State concluded action at the Adidas Hoosier Classic on Sunday with the final singles matches of the weekend. Freshman Ivana Kubickova registered her second win of the weekend for the Wildcats.
Kubickova tallied a third-place finish with a come from behind 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (6) win over Carolyn Chupa of Indiana in Flight 3. The rookie from Brno, Czech Republic notched her first career win in a three-set match and owns a record of 4-2 in her brief K-State career.
A pair of Kansas State women’s tennis players will be in action beginning Tuesday at the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Senior and No. 69-ranked Karla Bonacic will begin play in the qualifying round of singles play.
Bonacic will be busy on Tuesday, as she will also play qualifying doubles with junior Petra Niedermayerova. Niedermayerova, ranked No. 14 in singles, will begin action on Thursday, Oct. 4 in the main draw.
