Wildcats Downed by Longhorns
AUSTIN, Texas - Kansas State women's tennis looked to upset No. 32 Texas on Friday afternoon at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center, but the Longhorns held serve with a 7-0 win over the Wildcats.
With the loss, Kansas State falls to 3-6 on the season and 0-1 in Big 12 action. The Wildcats have dropped four straight matches. Texas improves to 5-3 and 1-0 in Big 12 play. The Wildcats extended a pair of matches to three-sets, as freshmen Carmen Borau Ramos and Karla Bonacic each won a set at number four and five singles, respectively. Bonacic had her personal two-match win streak halted with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-0 defeat to Maggie Mello. Borau Ramos was the final match to conclude on Friday and was defeated, 6-7, 6-2, 10-3 by Caroline Larsson.
