K-State Hosts Jayhawks in Sunflower Showdown
K-State leads the all-time series 5-4 over the Jayhawks. The Wildcats have won three-straight before losing last year’s Showdown. K-State will have six boats in the competition, while
The event is a 2,000 meter, side-by-side race format. It will be the first time of the season for the Wildcats to compete in this particular style of race. All other fall races have been Head races, where the distance is between 4,000 and 5,000 meters and the boats race in a time trial format.
Last year’s showdown saw K-State win two out of the first three races, before dropping the final two. The Second Varsity 8+ and First Novice 8+ both claimed victories last year.
