Women's Rowing Wins Novice Eight Race
With a commanding 35-second lead over in-state rival
In the Collegiate Varsity 4+ race, K-State placed two boats in the top-10. The Wildcats “A” boat finished seventh (16:50.655), missing the cut for the 500 meter sprints by nine seconds, while the “B” boat placed ninth with time of 16 minutes and 52.763 second. In the field of 27 boats, K-State “C” boat finished 20th (17:43.445) and “D” boat placed 22nd (18:20.210).
“The continued positive progress of the program can be seen in the good result of our Novice 8.” said head coach Patrick Sweeney. “For their first race ever they handled the pressure well and gained a lot from the experience. On the Varsity side it was good to see the top two boats have a solid performance and finish in the top-10. This weekend really brought the entire team together. It was a positive start to the year.”
