MANHATTAN, Kan. - Senior varsity rower Alyssa Adams has been named a National Scholar-Athlete by the 2003 College Rowing Coaches Association, highlighting another successful academic year for the program.

The program also achieved a cumlative 3.0445 GPA this semester. Along with an outstanding overall student-athlete GPA, four student-athletes attained 4.0 GPAs this spring semester, including freshman Stephanie Black, senior Katy Bockelman, sophomore Linzi Hauldren, and senior Carissa Land.

"It means a lot because it is a national award so it means that the rowing community at large recognizes our athletes. It rewards them on a national level for achieving success as both an athlete and as a student," Paula Donald, assistant rowing coach, said.
