MANHATTAN, Kan. The Kansas State women’s rowing team will have a battle on its own waters when the Wildcats host regional rival Creighton on Saturday, March 26, at Tuttle Creek Lake Reservoir in Manhattan, Kan.

The competition begins at 9 a.m. with a race scheduled between the two competitors' First Novice Eight boats. The morning continues with races among the First Varsity Eight, First and Second Novice Four and First Varsity Four teams. Racing concludes with K-State taking on two Creighton Second Varsity Four boats.

“We are looking forward to hosting a regional competitor and thus having a good crowd of supporters for both teams,” Head Coach Patrick Sweeney said. “The Saturday racing will be valuable in gaining more expereince for our Novice crews.”

The last time the Wildcats had a showdown against Creighton was in March of 2002. K-State's First Varsity Eight, First Novice Eight and First Novice Four boats all finished ahead of the Bluejays.

Directions to Manhattan and Tuttle Creek Lake Reservoir: Exit 1-70 at Highway 177 (exit 313) and head North on 177 until reaching Manhattan. Remain in the right lane as you cross over the bridge and exit right to Hwy 24. Turn left at the bottom of the exit ramp onto Tuttle Creek Blvd/Hwy 24. Go North on Tuttle Creek Blvd - US 24/State 177 (approx. 3.5 miles). Turn right onto State Hwy 13 toward the Tuttle Creek Dam. Proceed across the length of the dam and spillway (approx. 1.5 miles). Take first left onto Spillway Marina Drive and the next left will be Victory Drive (KSU Boathouse Driveway).
