AUSTIN, Texas Kansas State women’s rowing team concluded racing at the Longhorn Invitational Sunday as the First Novice Eight defeated Iowa and went undefeated at the three-day event.
After defeating Duke on Friday and Central Florida and Miami on Saturday, the 1N8+ crossed the finish line four seconds ahead of Iowa on Sunday morning at Austin’s Town Lake.
The Second Novice Eight and both the 1V8+ and 2V8+ fell to the Hawkeyes. The 2N8+ finished with a time of 8:05.8, while the First Varsity Eight crossed the line at 7:20.1 and the Second Varsity Eight posted a time of 7:42.2.
The Wildcats will remain in Austin for the next six days and train during their spring break. K-State will return to racing with the 1V8+, 2V8+ and 1N8+ when they compete in San Diego, Calif. on March 31-April1 in the San Diego Classic.
