K-State Rowing Announces Upcoming Spring Schedule
MANHATTAN, Kan. Two home regattas on Tuttle Creek Lake highlight the upcoming spring race schedule for the Kansas State women’s rowing team. The Wildcats commence spring competition on March 18-20 at the three-day Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas, prior to hosting regional rival Creighton University on Saturday, March 26 in Manhattan. K-State will then travel to sunny Southern California to take on some of the nation’s top varsity squads at the 32nd Annual San Diego Crew Classic on April 2-3 in San Diego, Calif. The annual event is one of the largest U.S. multi-laned regattas and laden with talent from all over the country. This year’s battle for the Kansas Cup will take place on April 9 in Manhattan with both K-State and in-state rival Kansas competing for ultimate state bragging rights. The Wildcats will then go up against some of the region’s best teams at the Southern IRA’s on April 16-17 in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The Big 12 Invitational will crown the best crews fielded by K-State, KU and Texas on April 30 in Austin, Texas, while the year’s preparation and competition comes down to the Central Region Championships on May 14-15 in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The season-ending event serves as a qualifier for the 2005 NCAA Championships on May 27-29 in Sacramento, Calif. 2004-05 KANSAS STATE WOMEN’S ROWING SPRING SCHEDULE
