Wildcats Card Another Season-Low Score
LAS CRUCES, N.M. The Kansas State women’s golf team shot a season-best 925 at NMSU, and came away with an 11th place finish.
Host school New Mexico State had a solid round of 294 to claim to the team title, finishing six strokes ahead of second place Baylor.
Junior Kali Quick recorded her 10th career top-twenty finish after carding rounds of 77-73-75225 (+9). Quick finished just two strokes shy of her career low total.
Junior Michelle Regan shot rounds of 75-77-80232 (+16) to finish tied for tied for 35th.
Junior Hailey Mireles carded a 78-80-75233 (+17) for the tournament to finish tied for 42nd. The 233 total is a season best for Mireles.
“Today was mediocre 309,” said head coach Kristi Knight. “Kali played well and had a good event. Hailey had a nice round today with 75. It was a matter of 2 or 3 holes for the others. We are close we just need to lessen our mistakes out there. This was a competitive field.”
The Wildcats finished ahead of three of the other five Big 12 teams in the tournament.
The Wildcats return to action next on Monday, October 30th at the Edwin Watts Invitational in Kiawah Island, S.C.
