K-State Looks to Continue Successful Fall in Norman

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Coming off its second consecutive second-place finish at the Johnie Imes Invitational, the Kansas State women's golf team will travel to Norman, Okla., to compete in the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic, Oct. 16-18, at the par 72, 6,327-yard Jimmie Austin Golf Club.
The tournament will consist of three 18-hole rounds beginning on Sunday with teams teeing off holes No. 1 and 10 from 9 a.m., to 10:20 a.m. The second round will be played on Monday, while the final round will take place on Tuesday.
Representing K-State in Norman will be Gianna Misenhelter, Ami Storey, Paige Osterloo, Whitney Pyle and Hannah Roos. It is the second time this season that the Wildcats have used this lineup and the first since a second-place showing at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational at Colbert Hills last month.
Misenhelter, Storey, Osterloo and Pyle are each coming off top-20 finishes at the Johnie Imes Invitational two weeks ago, while Misenhelter, Osterloo and Pyle have put together back-to-back top-20 finishes.
"The team is looking forward to getting back into competition mode," said head coach Kristi Knight. "The field is filled with talented teams, so this is a great opportunity for us."
The Wildcats will be joined by Coastal Carolina, Florida International, Florida State, Kansas, Kennesaw State, Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oral Roberts, Redlands Community College, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, UTSA and Wisconsin.
The Jimmie Austin Golf Club is host to the 2013 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regional Championship and the 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship.
