K-State Will Look for Improvement on Day Two
Baylor leads the field after day one with a score of 302-305607 (+23). Host school Texas Tech, who was just one stroke behind Baylor after round one, now trails the Bears by three strokes at 26-over 610.
Sara Wikstrom of Arkansas-Little Rock leads all individuals, shooting a 5-under par 141 on Monday. After finishing the first round at even par 73, Wikstrom shot a 5-under during the second round to finish at 73-68141. Lene Hafsten-Morch of Baylor will begin Tuesday’s final round in second place after carding a 73-68146 (E) through the first two rounds.
Freshman Paige Osterloo sits just four strokes back from Moon after day one, shooting an 83-78161 (+21), good for a tie for 45th.
Freshman Ami Storey, competing as an individual, is tied for 51st at 21-over par 162.
The final round of the Jeannine McHaney/Audrey Morehead Invitational is set for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday. Complete results for the invitational will be posted on www.k-statesports.com as soon as they are made available.
