K-State Women Tied For Third After Day One
Quick played consistently on Monday, shooting a pair of 1-over par 73s. The senior from
Abbi Sunner finds herself in a tie for 17th with an 8-over par 152. Sunner fired a pair of 76s and is looking to move up and snag her second top-10 finish of the fall.
Michelle Regan and Hailey Mireles both carded rounds of 10-over par 154. Regan shot a 6-over 78 on her first 18 holes and improved that by two strokes on her final 18. Mireles shot a season-best 72 on her opening round, beating out her 76 at the Chip-N-Club Invitational, before posting an 82 to end the day.
Freshman Elise Houtz, playing as an individual, shot rounds of 79 and 77 for a 12-over par finish of 156 in her first tournament action of the year. She is in a tie for 28th-place heading into the final round.
Krista Nelson, playing as an individual, fired an 18-over par 162 and is in a tie for 53rd. Morgan Moon is in a tie for 60th after posting a score of 20-over par 164. Emily Houtz, also seeing her first tournament action as a Wildcat, is in 66th place after a round of 25-over par 169.
The tournament will finish Tuesday as the women will begin their final 18 holes in a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Results will be posted at www.k-statesports.com when made available. __
