Cats Start Strong in Lincoln
Host
Coach Kristi Knight was pleased with the scores in the first round, but noticed her squad struggle a little more in the afternoon.
“We had a fairly solid morning,” Knight said. “I thought the afternoon would be better, but there was some struggling. We gave away a lot of shots. Three of the girls held in and were solid. Hailey (Mireles) bounced back in the second round, shooting a 76.”
Sophomore Mireles was the only Wildcat to improve on her first round score after shooting 79 the first 18 holes. She is currently tied for 16th.
Knight is optimistic on what tomorrow holds for the Wildcats.
“We are currently tied for second,” Knight said. “We are in a position to go out and have a good tournament tomorrow.”
The Wildcats continue play at the Chip-N Club Invitational on Tuesday, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. For complete results visit www.kstatesports.com.
