K-State Finishes in NGCA's Academic Top-25


 

 
 

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. The Kansas State women’s golf team finished 17th in the 2004-05 Team GPA standings, as announced by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). The team had a cumulative GPA of 3.472 for the 2004-05 academic year.

 

Finishing first in team GPA was South Carolina, with an overall GPA of 3.752. K-State finished second in the Big 12, following Nebraska, which earned a GPA of 3.566.

 

Three Wildcats were named to the NGCA Division I All-American Scholar Team earlier this year. Former Wildcat Sarah Heffel, and current Wildcats Katy Heffel and Helene Robert all received this honor for the second consecutive year. Student-athletes earning this honor must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 and have competed in at least 66 percent of the regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.

 

Four Wildcats were named to the 2005 Academic All-Big 12 First Team. Sarah Heffel, Stephanie Limoges, Katy Heffel and Robert were all honored. Student-athletes receiving first team honors must maintain a 3.20 or better GPA.
