MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State's Christine Boucher qualified for the Women's U.S. Amateur Championship on July 23, with a 2-under par 71 at the sectional qualifier held at Segregansett Country Club in Taunton, Mass.

Boucher carded the best round of the day and will play in the Women's U.S. Amateur Championship, Aug. 12-17 at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Scarborough, N.Y.

Boucher, a native of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, Canada lead the K-State women's golf team to the NCAA Central Regional in East Lansing, Mich. in 2002. The junior-to-be had a team best 75.87 scoring average in 2002, and led the team in top 20 finishes with 10. Boucher finished second at the 2002 Big 12 Championship with a season-best score of 224, including a season-low 71 in the second round.

The Kansas State women's golf team begins its 2002-2003 season at the Husker Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., Sept. 16-17.
