Robert Finishes Second in Quebec Women's Amateur


 

 
 

MIRABEL, Quebec Kansas State sophomore Helene Robert finished second in the Quebec Women’s Amateur Championship on Thursday, July 14, at Hillsdale Golf Club.

 

Despite a thunderstorm delay on day two, Robert was tied for third after two rounds. After shooting 76-74-76226, she ended the tournament four strokes behind the leader, Marie-Therese Torti, who shot rounds of 72-75-75222.

 

Robert finished her sophomore campaign with the Wildcats as the team leader with a 77.8 stroke average. She tied for fifth at the Ptarmigan/Ram Fall Classic, where she set her career-low with a first-round of 70. She was also named the 2004-05 Player of the Year for the Wildcats.

 

Also competing in the Quebec Women’s Amateur was freshman-to-be Christine Arsenault. She finished tied for 19th with a three-round total of 77-83-80240.
