Karen Quintelier Named Academic All-District
STAMFORD, Conn. - Karen Quintelier, a senior in Human Resource Management, was named to the 2004 CoSIDA Academic All-District VII Women's At-Large Team, as announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Out of 49 total athletes nominated in 10 sports by 19 different schools, Quintelier is one of 10 student-athletes selected for the Academic All-District team. She will move on to the national ballot in consideration for the honor of Academic All-America. The team is composed of nine seniors and one sophomore, with an average GPA of 3.85. Quintelier competed in all 12 tournaments of the Wildcats' golf season, with a spring stroke average of 78.45. She tied for 30th at the Big 12 Championships, tied for sixth at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational and tied for 10th at the Central District Invitational. "Karen works very hard in the classroom as well as on the golf course," head coach Kristi Knight said. "This is an honor for her as well as for our program."
