Women's golf drops to ninth at Big 12 Championships

College Station, Texas - Kansas State is in ninth place following the second round of the Big 12 Championships Saturday. The team shot 310 collectively, two strokes higher than in the first round.

Senior Christine Boucher, after being named conference Player of the Year Friday evening, recorded a 1-over 73 and improved from 13th to seventh place.

A rain delay caused play to be suspended mid-morning, causing difficulties for the Wildcats. Senior Karen Quintelier and freshman Helene Robert both fell in the standings today and are now both tied for 30th. Junior Stephanie Limoges improved three slots in the second round, now tying for 41st. Junior Sarah Heffel is now in 56th.

Leading the tournament are Texas (292-300--592) and Oklahoma State's Annie Thurman (69-68--137).

The Wildcats continue play at the Big 12 Championship Sunday with an 8 a.m. start off the first tee. For complete results of the Big 12 Championship, please visit www.golfstat.com.
