K-State Places Four on Academic All-Big 12 Team
The Wildcats’ first-team members include Abbi Sunner, Elise Houtz and Emily Houtz, while Morgan Moon was named to the second team.
Junior Abbi Sunner was one of just four honorees out of a field of 81 to possess a perfect 4.0 grade point average. Sunner has competed in all 10 of the Wildcats’ tournaments this year and owns a team-best 78.17 stroke average with four top 20 finishes and one top 10 finish. She was a 2008 NCGA All-Scholar honoree as a sophomore.
Sophomore Elise Houtz, who was also named to the 2008 NCGA All-Scholar Team, has played in eight of 10 events in the 2008-09 season and owns a 80.29 stroke average, while her sister, Emily Houtz, has played in seven events this season and cards an 81.57 stroke average.
Junior Morgan Moon was selected to the second team and has played in eight tournaments this season with a 79.92 stroke average.
To qualify for the first team, student athletes had to maintain a 3.20 or better GPA, while second team selections must maintain a GPA between 3.00 and 3.19.
The Wildcats’ next action will be April 24-26, where they will take part in the Big 12 Championship at The Rawls Course in
